Hook's Ch. Ghetto

(Now owned by Rushin Kennels)

Ch. Ghetto's record (according to her breeder/campaigner A. Hook)

Match 1. Defeated Icepick's Ch. Bobbie in 55 minutes. Ref. was "Slu".

According to Hook he was supposed to go into a first timer, like Ghetto, but when he arrived and started walking her out people were laughing at them. He asked what was funny and they said, "You've got a dead dog, Pal, Icepick brought Ch. Bobbie!" Apparently Bobbie's credentials didn't impress Ghetto and she ended her career in less than an hour. (Sources close to Ch. Ghetto inform me she was less than two years old at the time of this match. NOTE: We have just confirmed that Ghetto was 15 months old at the time of her first match. This was incredibly stupid on Hook's part and an incredible feat on Ghetto's part! We DO NOT recommend anyone try this with their pups!)

Match 2. Defeated Orig. GA Boy's  "T.T." (1 x winner) in 56 min. T.T. was a Jeep/Red Boy dog. Ref. was Bama Red

Match 3. Defeated Fowler's Weezy (2 x winner) in 30 min. Weezy was off of Gr. Ch. Shep. Ref. was Greasy Corner Kid

Before he died Sonny Sykes, a dog man of 40 years experience, in an interview, named Ch. Ghetto as one of the best dogs he'd seen in "modern times." Quite a compliment for any dog.

I spoke with a man who saw Ghetto directly after two of her matches and he said he was surprised that she lived. She took a terrific amount of punishment from these three dogs. It was rumored she could not have pups, some even thinking she had been spayed but we had never heard the rumors and just started breeding her when she came in season. She has had puppies for four consecutive heat periods/breedings.

Our main focus in breeding has been on Ch. Ghetto for almost three years (5 straight litters) and we haven't been disappointed with her offspring in the least. She is throwing the mouth, talent, gameness and intensity that she herself was noted for. All the things I look for and expect from a brood dog.  What more can you ask?

The first breeding to our Red Mike (Red Boy/Outlaw/Jeep) dog was VERY tricky as Ghetto hated all other dogs. Being heavy Red Boy, Mike didn't like being growled at or bitten so it was really touch and go breeding them as Ghetto was as nasty acting as any bitch I've ever bred. Actually, it was a miracle we got her stuck at all but somehow we did. And their pups were worth it!

The second breeding was to our Hurricane II (Boudreaux/Alligator/Rascal) dog and we have pictures (printed in the March 2003 issue of PBR) of this breeding taking place as well as pictures of Ghetto with pups while they were still nursing age. (Ghetto is one of the best mothers I have ever seen, often allowing her pups to eat out of her pan when they are old enough for solid food and will nurse them for 7 weeks!)

The dogs of that breeding aren't quite 2 yr. (as of April 15) and are looking as good as the first litter.

The third Breeding was to our  2 X winner, Big Mickey (Tombstone/Lightner/Carver/Alligator-Nigger) and those pups are really looking good too at 21 months.

The fourth litter was Ghetto bred back to a very good son of her's by Red Mike named Rushin "Big City" (Big Boy for short) who now resides with my friend, Blake at Lost Corner Kennels. I only have three of those  but I like them a lot too.

WE ARE SOLD OUT OF GHETTO'S FIFTH LITTER SIRED BY BIG MICKEY (R.I.P.) but we do have a couple f bitch pups left out of Ghetto's half-sister, Suzie Q, (1x winner) sired by Ghetto's son, Big City.

Ch. Ghetto came into season again in Dec. '03 and we skipped her and she is being rested and readied for her next breeding. Don't miss out. Contact us for further information.
